风肿，疮疖，肿毒，臁疮，烧烫伤，蜈蚣咬伤。
Wind swelling, sores and abscesses, toxic swelling, carbuncles, burns and scalds, centipede bites.
用法用量 Dosage and Administration
内服：15-30g；或浸酒。外用：适量，捣敷，或研末调敷；或煎水洗。
Internal use: 15-30g; or soak in alcohol. External use: appropriate amount, mashed for application, or ground into powder for application; or decocted for washing.
临床应用 Clinical Application
诸般恶毒，疮疖肿毒：金刚藤，每用一叶，贴疮上，候清水出为度，未瘥再用。(《履巉岩本草》)
For various severe toxins, boils and swellings: use one leaf of Houttuynia cordata, apply it to the sore, and wait until clear fluid exudes as a sign of effectiveness; if not healed, repeat use. ("Lu Chuan Yan Ben Cao")
加工炮制 Processing and Preparation
采收加工：夏、秋季采收，鲜用或晒干。
Harvest and process: collect in summer or autumn, and use fresh or dry in the shade.

形态特征 Morphological Characteristics
攀援灌木；根状茎粗厚，坚硬，为不规则的块状，粗2-3厘米。茎长1-3米，少数可达5米，疏生刺。叶薄革质或坚纸质，干后通常红褐色或近古铜色，圆形、卵形或其他形状，长3-10厘米，宽1.5-6(-10)厘米，下面通常淡绿色，较少苍白色；叶柄长5-15毫米，约占全长的1/2-2/3具宽0.5-1毫米（一侧）的鞘，几乎都有卷须，少有例外，脱落点位于靠近卷须处。伞形花序生于叶尚幼嫩的小枝上，具十几朵或更多的花，常呈球形；总花梗长1-2厘米；花序托稍膨大，近球形，较少稍延长，具小苞片；花绿黄色，外花被片长3.5-4.5毫米，宽1.5-2毫米，内花被片稍狭；雄花中花药比花丝稍宽，常弯曲；雌花与雄花大小相似，有6枚退化雄蕊。浆果直径6-15毫米，熟时红色，有粉霜。花期2-5月，果期9-11月。
Climbing shrub; rhizome thick, hard, irregularly tuberous, 2–3 cm thick. Stem 1–3 m long, rarely up to 5 m, sparsely thorny. Leaves thinly leathery or papery, drying reddish-brown or coppery, round, ovate or variable in shape, 3–10 cm long, 1.5–6(–10) cm wide; abaxially usually pale green, rarely whitish. Petiole 5–15 mm long, with a sheath 0.5–1 mm wide on one side covering 1/2–2/3 of its length, nearly always bearing a tendril, abscission near the tendril. Umbel inflorescence borne on young shoots, with dozens of greenish-yellow flowers, often spherical; peduncle 1–2 cm long; floral receptacle slightly swollen, nearly spherical, occasionally slightly elongated, with small bracts; tepals: outer ones 3.5–4.5 mm long, 1.5–2 mm wide, inner ones slightly narrower; stamens in male flowers slightly wider than filaments, often curved; female flowers similar in size to male flowers, with 6 vestigial stamens. Berry 6–15 mm in diameter, ripening red with a waxy bloom. Flowering from February to May, fruiting from September to November.

产于山东（山东半岛）、江苏、浙江、福建、台湾、江西、安徽（南部）、河南、湖北、四川（中部至东部）、云南（南部）、贵州、湖南、广西和广东（海南岛除外）。缅甸、越南、泰国、菲律宾也有分布。
Distributed in Shandong (Shandong Peninsula), Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Jiangxi, Anhui (southern), Henan, Hubei, Sichuan (central to eastern), Yunnan (southern), Guizhou, Hunan, Guangxi, and Guangdong (excluding Hainan Island). Also found in Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines.
生长环境 Growing Environment
生于海拔2000米以下的林下、灌丛中、路旁、河谷或山坡上。
Grows in forests, thickets, along roadsides, river valleys, or slopes below 2000 meters elevation.
